Extension: Global Images

In a multi store setup the media gallery of a product is stored per store view. Saving an image in the global scope therefore does not necessarily reach the store views - they keep their own, possibly outdated image assignment. This extension closes that gap: when a product is saved in the global scope, the store specific gallery values are removed and the media attributes of the global scope are written to every store view.

Implementation

The processing is triggered by the catalog_product_save_after observer and only runs when

  • the setting Image Save Processing Enabled is active (cleverzoeger_globalimages/general/enabled) and

  • the product is saved in the global scope (store id 0).

Configuration: Stores > Configuration > Clever+Zoeger > Global Image > General (shortcut in the admin menu under Clever+Zoeger > Global Images).

The module has no own storefront output; it only aligns the product images across store views.
